Montra Electric has taken a huge leap in India’s clean mobility journey with the launch of the all-new Rhino 5538 EV 4x2 TT, a 55-ton heavy-duty electric truck designed for long-haul freight. This EV comes with two battery options — a fixed pack and a revolutionary battery swap system that completes a swap in just 6 minutes, drastically reducing downtime for fleet operators.
The Rhino 5538 EV is powered by a 282 kWh LFP battery, delivering 380 HP and 2000 Nm torque, paired with a 6-speed AMT transmission and capable of handling multiple trailer types. With a range of nearly 198 km on a single charge, it promises performance, reliability, and lower operating costs for Indian logistics.
Alongside the truck launch, Montra Electric inaugurated India’s first all-women-monitored automated battery plant, featuring Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and a new conveyor line, marking a significant step toward technology-driven, sustainable logistics solutions.
Priced at ₹1.15 crore (ex-factory) for the fixed-battery variant, the Rhino 5538 EV also comes with 10-year/9 lakh km AMC, 95% uptime guarantee, advanced telematics, and tailored financing options.
This launch positions India firmly on the global map of electric commercial vehicles, making it easier for fleet operators to adopt clean transport solutions while supporting national climate goals.
